About Us

Economists forecast impressive growth for Nigeria over the next decade and more. As this comes about, greater skills from an expanding workforce will be in constant demand. How is this demand to be met? And how is industry to harvest the prosperity world trends offer unless, first, education reaches far greater numbers of children and young people and to greater effect than at present? Studies reveal that Nigeria has fewer qualified teachers for its people than other comparable countries. Public education is not yet universal, nor is it of a consistently high standard. As a result, many children receive little or no education; aptitudes and creative talents go unrecognised, poorly developed and scarcely rewarded.

Too many young professionals and highly-skilled trainees, attracted by excellent education and useful experience on offer in other countries, simply linger abroad where conditions of life seem more rewarding. Their abilities and potential also are lost to the nation, in a period of need greater than ever before. This brochure is about investment – in the future workforce and the skills commerce must have if it is to succeed into the longer term. This must start with long-term investment in more and better education for children – the sole rational foundation for a secure future. Together, we can make this investment work.

Stalwart Communities and its strategic partners present a programme of co-ordinated educational and social developments, drawing upon existing community and family strengths, to prepare more children and young people, more thoroughly and more appropriately, for Nigerian life tomorrow and beyond, to promote the skills of teachers, other professionals and community practitioners who will lead this work, and to create sound financial and administrative structures that will ensure lasting success through changing times

Stalwart Communities exists to make a coherent contribution to a future for Nigeria, West Africa and globally in which economic growth, widening prosperity, developing skills and personal fulfilment move forward together, in a climate of social stability with an enduring prospect of peace
