Stalwart Communities Africa (SCA) is hosting a two-day summer training programme in August for passionate and inspired Professionals working in schools. This includes; school teachers, administrators, school counselors and school owners.
Teachers and practitioners play an important role in child development and preparation for future jobs. In a globally changing and dynamic world, it is paramount for teachers and school staff to remain globally competitive and knowledgeable on educational research and studies that better inform teaching practice. It should be the focus of the school to uphold a conducive and safe learning environment that is inclusive for all children.
Currently, international bodies such as OECD are promoting the implementation of 21st Century Skills, also referred to as global skills, amongst school staff. ‘These are skills and competencies young people will be required to have in order to be effective workers and citizens in the knowledge society of the 21st Century’.
It is important to reflect and continue to revise our role as practitioners. The two-day training programme will provide informative and engaging activities, ready to implement immediately. The programme will give opportunity to liaise with other school networks and individuals in your profession.
Other topics that will be addressed include:
• The role of leaders in the new normal: 21st Century Skills.
• Comparative curriculums (WAEC & British).
• Education for All: Working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
